Using cookie cutters on your marshmallow crispie treats
I made a large number of cookies as usual, but I actually learned something new! While making Marshmallow Squares, I decided to try the idea on the back of the box. This recommended putting the mixture in a pan to cool and then cutting shapes with cookie cutters. I was only able to cut a few out of what was there, and didn’t know how to re-form it so it wouldn’t be all full of holes. I put the mix into the microwave for 30 seconds and it softened up enough to re-form it smooth in the pan again. I repeated this process until I had used up all of the mixture. It works great, and doesn’t affect the texture of the marshmallow treats. The best way to deal with the warm mixture is to lightly butter a spatula to smooth it again. I always put some butter on my hands as well to make sure they don’t stick to anything while I am re-forming it in the pan.
Enjoy!
